Two brothers were arrested after police executed a search warrant to enter their parents' Mt. Greenwood home and found more than 30 grams of marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash.
Thomas Sullivan, 21, and Peter Sullivan, 19, were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis on Feb. 26 at 8:10 p.m., after police entered their home at 10443 S. Central Park Ave., according to 22nd District police.
More than 30 grams of cannabis and $3,500 in cash were recovered from the home, police said. Police could not provide a court date.
A neighbor, who declined to be named, said when the police came to the house the door was knocked off the hinges. He said neighbors were growing weary of the situation at the home and wanted it be brought to light even if took a search warrant and tip to police.
"We are getting really tired of this happening, so we hope the neighborhood is aware so this doesn't happen again," the neighbor said. "We hope this time they'll learn."
This is at least the third large drug bust at a Mt. Greenwood home in the last five months.
In late September 2009, police recovered 30.5 grams of crushed cannabis, 35 marijuana plants, a 9mm pistol and a .38-caliber revolver from a home on the 10600 block of South Central Park Avenue.
In January, a Mt. Greenwood man was arrested after police raided his house on the 3100 block of West 107th Street, and recovered more than 5,000 grams of marijuana, worth an estimated $35,000.
